Is NightWave effective for children?
Yes, in fact, many of our parents purchased NightWave for themselves and later learned that they needed a second and third for their children. Children often find NightWave comforting when going to bed. It gives them a routine with which to fall asleep and helps parents avoid the sometimes exhausting process of putting their children to bed again and again and again in a single evening.

I know my sleep issues are partially caused by another medical condition, would NightWave work for me?
You should always consult your physician. However, NightWave customers have found it effective for sleep issues when “co-morbid” afflictions were also present. We’ve helped people who also have: menopause, ADHD, fibromyalgia, depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety disorder, cancer, autism, sleep apnea, and for sleep issues associated with therapies for other unrelated ailments.

Isn’t this just a form of meditation or yoga?
Yes, in a sense, NightWave teaches the basic concepts, with a focus on proper breathing, familiar to practitioners of meditation and yoga. Superior breathing leads to more effective thinking, higher productivity, better health, and a deeper sense of well-being. Yoga practitioners have used this ancient relaxation secret for over 2,000 years.

Doctors know that constricted breathing can contribute to the development of anxiety, asthma, hypertension and migraine. And it can aggravate symptoms of other medical disorders, including insomnia.

Active breathing is the only way we can deliberately affect the involuntary nervous system. By breathing in a slow, deep and regular manner, the heartbeat becomes smooth and regular, blood pressure normalizes, stress hormones (cortisol) drop, and muscles relax. And for those looking to fall asleep, the drop in cortisol makes way for the secretion of the sleep hormone melatonin. The systems of the body work together harmoniously again.

The mode is too short and I feel rushed. What should I do?
Try the longer 25-minute mode 4. Its breathing rhythm is slower.

I have trouble lying on my back. What should I do?
Stand NightWave on its side and point to a wall.

My NightWave makes my room too bright. What can I do?
We recommend placing your NightWave further away from your bed if it too bright when positioning near your sleeping location.

I’ve read that bright light is bad for sleep and especially blue light, so wouldn’t this make NightWave ineffective?
Bright light therapy is used to suppress melatonin levels during the afternoon so that they peak in the evening. Many of these therapies use blue light. In order to suppress melatonin light must be aimed directly at the eyes and be quite bright. NightWave is designed with its light emitting in a conical form so that it projects towards the ceiling or wall and not to the users eyes. And, the brightness level is 1/10th the brightness required to impact melatonin levels. NightWave uses a soft blue hue because it is the most soothing color according to the early adopters of our product. Other colors tested were: white, amber, red, and green. Blue was deemed the most relaxing and is consistent with sleep hygiene recommendations for insomnia which suggest that bedroom should be painted a cool color such as light blue or periwinkle.

My NightWave no longer works. What do I do?

1. Replace the battery.2. If battery replacement fails, we will replace your NightWave free of charge under our standard warranty terms.
